I met my boyfriend when he was dressed up as a giant bat and I was dressed as a zebra. Personally, I think it's a pretty great 'so how'd you two meet' story. Next month is our one-year anniversary. I originally made the little creatures to serve as rear-view mirror danglies for his slick new car, but I only discovered after finishing them that my boyfriend doesn't like rear-view mirror danglies for his slick new car. Something about not having anything blocking his vision, pff.

Never one to be discouraged, I turned them into something for myself instead!

I've only been knitting/crocheting for about 6 months, usually just touques and scarves, aka things that don't require a pattern. Because I have not yet learned how to read a pattern. The little animals were improvised, and crochet. More details on them here in my journal. The scarf measures just under 7' from the butt of one critter to the other, knit on circular needles. It's hands down the longest scarf I've ever made. The last little bit is white, with a very improvised 'fading out' of the black.

Overall, I'm pretty proud of this one. It's 100% acrylic, so not the softest thing ever, but decent for a first effort. Happy anniversary honey!
