making my own beads

craftgrrlas you all already know, I bought a bunch of sculpty clay and FIMO clay and I want to make my own beads.
I have never done this before and I was wondering if anyone had any tips for me or if anyone knew a good place online...or even a good book.....that would help me out with making beads and blending the colors together to get the swirled look.
