Hey there craftgrrls!
I wanted to say a big thank you for informational posts in the memories and answers to questions I've posed here. Back in December I was looking to buy a sewing machine for my crafty boyfriend, and I wasn't sure if I should go used or new, or what to look for, or what would be able to meet his needs. You all helped me figure out the answers and it worked great. :)
I ended up with a used early 1980s Singer, old enough to have almost entirely metal parts, and it does everything he wants. It even sewed through double layers of wool and microsuede on the winter cloak he just made - like it was nothing at all. He's very happy with it and I get to feel like a smart and thrifty crafter. So thanks!
