So, my sister's birthday is tomorrow...
Feb. 15th, 2006 11:42 pmI wanted to share some stuff I made my sister for her birthday tomorrow! Behind the cut is a lot of stuff and a ton of pictures...
First off, someone here mentioned making Golden Girls finger puppets. The idea sounded awesome, since my sister is a huge Golden Girls fan, and a very little kid at heart. I couldn't pass up the idea, and I hope that person doesn't mind me elaborating on the idea in my own way... I don't remember who you are, person with a great idea, but please don't hate me!!
First off, I made a box to put them in. Well, I didn't *make* the box, its one of those wood ones from Michaels. I painted it gold and made it old-lady-lookin' with lace, pearl beads and roses. Here's the inside and outside:

And here's the Girls... oh wait, don't look! They're NEKKID!!

Okay, you can look now...

The faces are printed pictures of the girls, laminated and glued onto the sewn felt bases. The clothes are made from bits and scraps I've had laying about. And Blanche is the only one with boobs... XD
My sister also wanted me to decorate a bookend for her desk at work, so I did:

She only wanted one decorated, the other, she says, won't show on her desk. Here's a closeup:

Plant marbles, pics on paper under them (marble magnet style), various shiny objects, mosaic glue and glitter glue. :D
This picture frame was a project we worked on together. I did the painting a while ago, and she wanted a frame for it. So she bought the frame and directed me where to glue which objects, and voila!:

My sister loves mermaids, btw... and here's the card I made her, "outside" and "inside":

You fold down her hair, then her left "seashell," and then fold up her tail, and she reads:
"My sister...
means the world to me, smart and pretty, she's the best
She's clever, fun, and thoughtful, and she has a real big...
HEART!
*Ahem.*
My sister is a friend to me, and always sees me through
And if I was without her, I don't know what I would do!
So Happy Birthday sister, I hope all your dreams come true!"
and then I signed it. Bad poetry warning, btw. ;) The "HEART!" part is, of course, under the seashell... *g* Its a running joke between she and I, and when she saw her card (and died laughing) tonight, she vowed she'd get back at me with a big ass joke on my next birthday card. XD (We're 22 and 24, btw. ;))
So thats all! Just wanted to share the latest with you ladies (and gents!) :D
