Scarf #1. Moda Dea Eden and Aerie. Basic striped pattern.

I think I like the wrong side better.

Scarf #2. Blossom by Trendsetter Yarns. Just straight garter stitch, with the texture I thought it was best to just let the yarn do its own thing.

Alright, so in the bay area, it's been a good weekend to be a crafter, with the craft expo and Stitches West.

At the craft expo, I bought some beads shaped like limes. I bought them because, well, it's not everyday you see miniature glass limes. I'd like some suggestions for what to do with them, colour combinations and such. In real life, they're about 1/2" long. I don't have pierced ears, so earrings are out.

At Stitches West, I decided to try out some recycled sari yarn and roving...

...and banana silk yarn.

I'm probably just going to make a striped scarf from the grey and blue yarn that's in the photo with the banana yarn, but I'm not sure what to do with the banana yarn and the recycled sari silk. There's 160 yards of the recycled sari, not sure how much banana fibre I have. I've been seriously knitting for just over a year, and haven't made anything more difficult than a basket-weave baby blanket. I haven't advanced much past drop stitch. I don't wear hats. Can anyone suggest something new to try? Here's another photo that gives a good idea of how thick the yarns are. Not sure what size needles to use, neither came with labels that had the gauge.

wow, that was rambly.
