I'm looking into a new craft, and cosmetic-y therapy things like bath salts and soaps and lip balms and things have really caught my eye, especially since I've never really used in things like that before.

It also seems really fun to later on make a business out of it. I really like the idea of coming up with new ideas for things and packaging and whatnot. The one thing I'm worried about is especially for things like this, there are lots of free recipes out there. I'm worried about using them and trying to sell them, but using that person's idea for my own advances. So I'm hoping that there are some really basic recipes out there, or guides that tell what certain things are good for, like what oils are necessary for bath salts to work and which are just for fragrance. I'd like to know the basic stuff that everybody knows and then come up with my own combinations/recipes later. Are there any really simple guides out there for cosmetics and soaps and things like this?

[edit, hasn't been answered yet!] Also, I saw an idea I loved, of making tiny little cube soaps and putting them all in a jar together. The problem is, I saw this idea from a Martha Stewart website linked from ear. I used this idea and sold it, could Martha potentially sue my ass off?
