Feb. 23rd, 2006 12:31 pmI'm BORED...
Or rather... I'm avoiding studying for the midterm I have in an hour. So I took pictures and am posting them!
These are four pieces to an afghan I'm working on. I have a few more at home, but I'm at school, so therefore cannot take pictures of them. The pattern is from an ANCIENT LOOKING Crochet pattern book of my mom's that I found in my garage, which, judging from the people in the pictures was mid to late 70's (the page with the copyright date is missing). It's called Woman's Day Crochet Showcase.

Here are the four pieces, as they will fit together eventually. Obviously, in the finished afghan there will be A LOT more color variation, but I can only keep a yarn stash of about seven or eight skeins in my dorm room without my roomie killing me, so I'm a little limited while I'm here. Each piece takes me about an hour and a half to two hours, because the pattern is really convolouted, and takes a little processing before I actually do it (I'm a slow pattern learner. I figure, about five or six more pieces, and I'll have it to the point I don't really need to look at the pattern. Once the written pattern is not a factor anymore, I should have it down to about an hour. Because I seriously spend at least half an hour sitting there scratching my head thinking... okay... how did I translate this into actually doing it last time?)

With my phone for size.
After this guy is finished (I'm hoping by the time it gets cold again after summer comes and goes), I'm going to make one in all pink and purple to match my room.
