Some new sculpted doggy stuff
Feb. 26th, 2006 11:37 amThis is the reason I posted asking about how button stuffies were connected the other day.

This was inspired by a stuffed animal I saw at a thrift store. I actually want to make Corgi stuffies like this. I thought the arms and legs attached to the front was killer adorable! Soon after seeing that stuffie I saw a sculpted sheep pin in this basic design and decided "Oooo I want one of THOSE!!" so obsessed over it and made it. I had trouble figuring out how I wanted the head, but I think the buttons look cute!
It's actually made piece by piece, and was sewn, and glued together. I think later trying out a wagging tail design will be a cute addition! I've been thinking about plans for that. The other day at another thrift store I found a bear pin in this type of design holding roses I nabbed for a buck... so cute! ;0P I adore the whimsical "Country themed" craft type things, and this design reminds me of my Greant Aunt on the Dairy farms household decorations.

A well known Corgi artist suggested I make holiday themed designs... I did Valentines, already have some easter pieces done, but couldn't figure out a good St Pattys day design. I decided that there was no moral way I could do something for St Pattys day without booze due to my background so even though I'm sure it'll offend some people to see dogs with beer I'm more satisfied with this design than I think I have been any other ;) The mug is handblown glass.
And to go with the dorky easter themed Corgi I made here is a custom ordered Chih:

I'm still brainstorming more easter themed dog designs, and really love the bunny ears with the baskets. The Corgis have 3 eggs in their baskets, while the little Chis just have one egg like this :)
