craftgrrl | Painting vinyl boots? (Reply)

Okay, so I have this pair of REALLY cute boots, but they are silver, and I realized I'd probably be more likely to wear them if they were at least MOSTLY black. Is there a sort of paint I could use over the silver vinyl to make them black? I'm thinking either trying to do them solid black or maybe even a spongy effect, so some of the silver would remain....I live in the NW, so it rains often here, and I want to make sure whatever I use won't run when it gets wet...

thoughts?? I looked in the memories but all I could find was painting leather or canvas, I'm not sure if vinyl requires something different! :)
