ballerinas?

i'm struggling to find a french/ballet word to use in an earring description. when you tendue to the front (en avant i think?), then to the side (a la seconde), then to the back - what is that called? i have words like en dedans and en dehors in my head but i don't think they're right....and i think it's something other than derriere..... (please excuse my horrible spelling). thanks!
