Hello!
I'm hoping that someone can help me here. I recently inherited a pretty old Singer machine (if you're interested in what it looks like, then I have a few photos up in this gallery) Its a 8214, and is about 20 years old.
The problem is, I didn't get an instruction manual or any guide to how it works. Argh! However, I did manage to figure out most of it, and its been sewing fine until today (of course) when all of a sudden, there was lots of huge loops of cotton on the underside of the fabric.
By that, I mean this:
has been happening.
Please help! I have no idea about sewing machines (I hadn't been near one for about 8 years before this!) and I can't find *any* help online (I've emailed Singer with photos, but still no reply)

(p.s. I adore the stuff you guys do! You're the reason I had to get a sewing machine :))
