i live very close to a harbor, and beachcombing is a favorite pasttime. i often find toys washed up in the tideline. last weekend, my boyfriend and his brother went for a walk without me and brought me home this toy soldier. this weekend, i mounted him on cardboard and made a little artpiece out of him.

i kept the image a bit large so the words could be discerned, so i'm putting it

just in case you can't make out the words, it reads: he's like a mad inventor who infuses machines with jangling life and reduces people to creaky mechanisms.
