Question for beaders

craftgrrlSomething I've always been really curious about reading this community...why does beading take so long and why is it considered so tedious and skill-necessary?
I'm talking about just stringing store-bought beads into a necklace or somesuch, not making your own beads.
I see posts that are like "It took me six hours to make this" and it looks like the artist just put some beads on wire. What gives?
(I'm definitely not trying to demean the craft; I've never tried it and I think most of the products are lovely. I'm just confused and curious.)
