A question for all of you crafters (and male friends, if available)

So I'm designing a male messanger bag, and I really want to put a chain as the strap, but I realize this may end up slightly painful if the bag is heavy....would you carry one?? (girls and guys, please answer) Here's a paint produced concept art....I got the dragon from an icon I saw on LJ...
