I bought some bamboo blinds for really cheap (YAY), but they're a plain blonde color, not the pretty greenish tinted ones with dark brown splotches/mottling that I really like (BOO). I figure adding dark splotches here and there is pretty easily accomplished with a paintbrush, but how best can I add subtle varying greenish tints? Spray paint is too concentrated/unsubtle and I don't have access to airbrushes. I was thinking of diluting some paint and using a spray bottle of the kind you use to mist plants or wet your hair down, but what kind of paint would be best to use, and would I dilute it with water or something else?

I'm trying to create a color look sort of like the 'bamboo rustic' or the 'bamboo tortoise' ones on this page.
