i finally found something to do with those silly cards that fall out of magazines: make post cards that actually look GOOD out of them! i made a collage one a while back for my friend, but here's one i made today with paint/decoupage:

and here's my adventure with aol tins in an attempt to make something for my musician friend (thanks for all the suggestions guys!! i'm so gonna try all of those at some point!):

i first used acrylic paint on the outside, then i mushed up tissue paper and used mod podge to stick it to the lid. then i coated the entire thing twice. after it dried i decoupaged the inside of the tin with white tissue paper and that little man that i found in an ad for like insurance or something. then i initialled it, if you're wondrin' what that little scribble there is. woohoo! so i'm gonna try makin' some of those aol cd guitar picks and put those and a note and a mix cd in there and then off it goes to a very special boy who's turning 21 this week :).
