mushy gushy boyfriend presents
Jan. 23rd, 2003 12:39 pmso I made my boyfriend a pair of gloves cause he didn't have any, and I made him a moon box for our 1 month anniversary (it was a while ago, but I'm just getting around to posting the pictures).
Moon Box:

This was a box (made in italy) that I found at a thrift store with the top/cover image torn off. 99 cents! what a deal! So I scrubbed off the paper bits that were left and then painted on this moon, etc. I antiqued the gold on all sides with some antiquing medium, and added a gold lock as hardware on the outside. The words on the top by the moon were just something I made up about us...all stuff that had happened between us "under the light of the moon."

Then on the inside it had nasty green flocking, so I glued down some burgundy silk and then added this glass heart and a gold key to fit the lock on the outside. (both glued down also) --oh, and he's keeping his piercing jewelry in it, so it had a purpose too..a tiny boy jewelry box. :)
Gloves:

on these gloves, they are quite stretchy and I didn't want the sewn-on patches to restrict the stretching of the gloves, so I sewed the patches on with my right hand while the glove was on my left hand (so it would be right when I took it off)...it was a bit difficult, but fun and silly at the same time. I also made the patches using some leftover painting canvas and iron-on printer paper.
