I saw a tutorial for combining shrinking plastic with straight pins and I just happened to have saved a #6 plastic container so I gave it a shot.
Bones and skulls:

The tutorial is here: http://weewonderfuls.typepad.com/wee_wonderfuls/2005/08/tutorial_for_sh.html

The container I used had cherry tomatoes in it, just to give you an idea of what kind of plastic to use. I sanded one side of it and drew pictures that were about 3/4" wide. I used a fine-tipped black sharpie.

Then I stuck a pin through them so the drawn-on side would face down when the pin was stuck in something.

I remember a post on here where someone put sculpey on the ends of pins and stuck the pins in a potato for baking. I stuck these in a potato, too. It worked great.

These pictures don't do them justice. The scratches from the sanding aren't as noticeable in real life as they are in these pictures. And they have a glass-like appearance. I just love them.
