Jan. 26th, 2003 09:28 pmi just bought a chair at a thrift store and am in the process of modifying it to match my room and use as a desk chair.
the cushoin is in very good condition, but it needs to be somewhat shiny to mmatch in here (vertical surfaces are black, the horizontal shiny).
the only idea i've come up with is what i've seen on TLC, which is sponge painting shiny latex paint onto the cushion, and getting a shiny suede look.
does anyone else have any idead? anyone know of shiny fabrics that are sturdy enough for an oft used desk chair?
it is also handy to know i have no sewing machine, but great talent with hot glue and staple guns.
thanks in advance. =}
