To make paint stick
May. 29th, 2006 06:23 pm....First all the necessaries. I am a long time...and I mean long time lurker..I tend to leave messages, but have never posted anything. Also I was to apologize if I posted this in the wrong spot...but I know there is a lot of knowledge in here :) And I have no idea how to add picture at this point, so I too apologize for this.
Ok here is the situation....We (meaning my husband and I) a home a couple years ago. I love love love it, and we have been making remodels and what not the whole time. Well we are that the kitchen. we have all new appliances and the counters are brand new. We were going to replace the cupboards, but the structures are in great shape and I could not see buying new just for a different color, when nothing is wrong with these. So this is where I turn here for advice.
The cupboards are not wood...it is made out of a composite materials.....MDF...something like that. Anyway, there is a thin paper material over it, to make it look like *real wood.* I would love love to have distressed cream colored cabinets and I would like to know what to use to create my dream...what to make it stick, what paint to use and how to seal it....cause it's a well loved and used kitchen ( I love to cook)
Thank you so much in advance and I appreciate all info given:)
