retreat crafting
Jun. 4th, 2006 08:43 pmA couple of friends and I were talking about setting up a deaf ladies' retreat in the fall of 2007. We were talking about doing crafting sessions during "free time" for the ladies. The women would be of various ages, possibly as young as 12 and as old as 90. If I do go ahead and do the crafting sessions, I would be responsible for getting the supplies myself, using the money out of my own pocket.
I'm planning to make a proposal on what kind of crafts, but I'm at a loss to what crafts would be good for all ages, and still hold their interest. It would also have to be cheap. And easy for anyone to do.
Things to consider:
Ages: 12-90
number of women: possibly around 10 to 30
and CHEAP supplies...as cheap as possible (because I would be paying for it!)
I do jewelry but I'm not sure about the older ladies (possible arthritis). I don't have enough tools to help everyone (I only have one set). Bulk beads would be no problem for me though.
I was thinking bookmarks (for bibles), pillowcases, simple jewelry (without wires)....
This is a Christian retreat and it would be nice to have something to remember this time with.
Suggestions?????
Sorry if this is all confusing, but I got a migraine coming on...:(
Thanks soooo much!
