Jun. 19th, 2006 01:05 pmI recently 'inherited' a Necchi 537L sewing machine from my grandparents as they were cleaning out their old store. They didn't, however, find the manual. Looking online, their website offers a manual for sale BUT it has a 'security breach' warning when I try to buy it (someone about certificates not matching?) which makes me wary of buying from them. Other places are charging $10-15 more (!!!) if they even have it and then it says it'll take 6-8 weeks until I get it! (plus, sewvacdirect.com doesn't seem very reputable to me anyway).
I'm highly impatient, so that's not really helpful for me. Plus, I want to use it to hem pants because all of my pants are a good 3 inches too long for me.
SO, are all sewing machines basically the same? Would I be able to use "threading the bobbin" instructions from the memories on this machine or is it absolutely vital that I get that manual and use their instructions?
(As you can tell, this is my first sewing machine and I haven't used one since I was 10).
