Jun. 26th, 2006 06:51 pmMy first post after some lurking here- lots of pictures of bags and cozy and skirt and fun things.
I was inspired by the nintendo appliques posted here earlier and the results were

I wanted a cozy for my lovely creative zen mp3 player, so I crocheted one and ironed on some princess toadstool/peach stuff. The first Toadstool I put on burnt a bit so it was pretty dark. I sewed it and the peachy on anyway, then reprinted it and ironed it right on top of the other one- worked just fine!

It's got a hole at the top for the headphones and it's open enough to use it while it's in the cozy (necessity because I'm always fiddling with it). I decreased by a lot of stitches the last round so between that and the strap it'll stay on.
Some older stuff-

I loved the cherry fabric. My fabricland is having a 50% off sale and I needed fabric for this skirt so I headed over. 3.99$/metre (canadian funds, eh?) and it used up 3 metres so it ended up being less than 15$ including the pattern.

I'm actually wearing it backwards. I like the bow on the pattern, but it looks better at the back.

Unfortunatly it's sized pretty small, or perhaps it's just a pattern flaw- the sides gape open a bit. You fasten it in the back with two hook and eye closures the tie it around the front in the bow, but on me it's not closing properly. Oh well, I have no problem putting safety pins in it and am considering zippers, but I'm pretty lazy. Still haven't even hemmed it!

I've also been making reversible tote bags. They're really easy, take less than an hour and are perfect for remnants. I adore remnants and it means I get to buy a whole bunch of pretty fabric.

another one

Also made a purse- made quite similarly but smaller and not reversible. The handles I got at the dollar store. I'm not willing to pay 16$+ at the knitting store for "real" purse handles and these do the trick.
I love the fabric- it's left over from a shirt I made of this and black velvet in a kinda 19th century long puffy sleeves style.
That's all from me for now
