This is a biggun....
Jul. 8th, 2006 02:10 amI don't post as often as I should. Stencils (finished and otherwise), etching, Coheed and Cambria, Rasterbation, Ceramics and Sewing.
I realized the other day that I kind of like Coheed and Cambria, about 3 years after everyone else on the planet realized that they were good. This shirt was a bitch to make and I ended up free-handing most of it. Then proceeded to get car grease on it within the first 30 minutes of having it on.

Shirt front

The side, duh.

Another shot of the Coheed shirt. There was no excuse for the face I was making in this picture, so for now imagine I'm Paris Hilton. I also altered the skirt that's in the picture. I go to Fratty McFratterson University and needed something else in tacky green and pink plaid. Originally 80's-to-the-max skirt at Goodwill, I just shortened it, took off the sexy elasticized waistband and added a new drawstring waistband. Now I can match all the girls I made fun of last year.

I kept this part of my stencil and put it up on my wall. My mom walked in and thought I stenciled it on the wall and freaked out. It was pretty funny. This also shows what the stencil is supposed to look like.

haha...another bad face. I'm going hardxcore scene to Warped Tour this year and needed pants. I added the plaid stripe down the side of old black pants that didn't fit then added strips of fabric at the bottom and at the top to hide the raw edges. Also, I would never wear those two pieces of clothing together under any circumstances.

Speaking of Warped Tour.......if you have not seen Aiden you are missing out. They are like teh best band eva!!!11!!! However they do put on a pretty good show. Go and participate in the WALL OF DEATH!!!! ok, so I'll probably stencil this on a shirt to wear to warped.

And speaking of stencils.... at the aforementioned Fratty McFratterson University I go to Philosophy Club every week and next year I'm VP of communications. The bf and I are going to cut these out really huge and stencil them onto the sidewalk out side of the Student Union Building with sidewalk chalk (from the stencil revolution tutorial) to draw a crowd to the coolest club EVER!
Nietzsche, Descartes, Kierkegaard and Aquinas.

Picked up some plain shot glasses at goodwill the other day and knew they needed something special. Sorry you can't see them that well. They read from left to right tipsy, krunk, FUBAR (my favorite) and shit faced. Oh my, are those shot glasses filled with Jose Cuervo or Arizona Diet Peach Iced Tea???? (hint: I finished them off all at once and they tasted good.)(ie: NOT the Cuervo)

Father's Day present. They say "nightcap" because he often has a drink before going to bed.
Glasses I made about two Christmases ago. A little clearer than the shot glasses but they read Water Juice Soda and Milk.

Just for kicks, the shot glass I stencilled and glazed on a field trip type thing I went on with some friends in January. Uhhh...this post is making me seem like a total alchi...

I don't know if Rasterbations count as crafts but I thought I'd post. Lead singer from the Mars Volta Cedric Bixler, guitarist Omar is in the background. When it's really hung on the wall I make sure it's straight. In this picture you can see the Coheed stencil again and on the dresser is a photo of me with the girls I stenciled the shot glass with....if you, like, cared at all.

And finally, more for laughs than anything else, I present to the world some of the by-products from the semester of hell in ceramics class. Pretty much everything I made was total crap but this is really the worst of it. Managed to get out of there with a B- though.
ETA:
He's not a grrl but whatever, the bf stencils on his own now (awwwww...they grow up so fast!) and sent me a pic of his latest work. (Mmmmm...bathroom mirror shots. YES!)

He will probably hate me for posting this, but he poses no physical threat until I see him in another month. He'll have forgotten by then.
The back reads Propagandhi for the very good political punk band. Download them today. Better yet buy the cd.
ah....finally done. I LOVE comments/criticism/etc. Let me know what you think of things.....
