Modge Podge, Yes!
Jul. 13th, 2006 07:47 pmSo, my friends are getting married in early August. They said they didn't want gifts, but that's not going to stop me! ^_^
I figure they meant "We don't need 50 toaster and a fondue pot."
So, I making them a set of coasters. These coasters will have all of the things that remind me(and some of their other friends) of them.
It's really basic, cork with paper podged on, and then the images.
This was my first time using Modge Podge, and after I finished the prototype I thought "Hey, Modge Podge = waterbased, therefore sweaty glass = bad!" So I glued some saran wrap to the top.

I realize now the crappy lighting of the kitchen.
and an ACTION SHOT!!

Now, should I decorate it further or leave it plain? I also need to figure out a neat holder for them. *ponders*
The other day I stopped at a thrift store and picked up a wicked cool pewter stein. It has a glass bottom! Cost me a whopping quarter. The only problems with it were the engravings that had been rubbed off, and the glossy black handle. Sanded and sealed it, then wrapped the handle with leather. Looks much more awesome now!
