noob. boob.
Jul. 18th, 2006 10:07 pmLurker is such an ugly word. I just joined to finally show off some of my own craftiness and also to show how much this community has inspired me **read: I stole some of your ideas and decided I should post the results**

my sister loves jon stewart so I made this for her birthday. its just a tote from Michael's and iron on transfer paper and scrap fabric. and applique techniques i learned from you ladies!

here she is loving the bag and the special applique hidden on the back
Thanks to this tutorial screen print tute i have a shortage of plain tanks. The dragon is a stencil that I got from the internet to test my technique and the others are hand drawn by me. The paint is a line of metallic acrylics called "Lumiere" by Jacquard that I got from Michaels. It doesn't require textile medium, just heat setting.

Andddd.... a freezer paper stencil hoodie birthday present:

It's the same type of ink I used for the screen printing.
Anddddd.... Lastly, (I'm gonna save some of my older crafts for a new post), I wanted to try this mario scarf so I made a test swatch and only had certain colors of yarn and ended up with this:

I CALL HIM "CHOCOLATE MARIO"! And then I turned him into a wrist rest by sewing scrap fabric into an liner and filling it with mung beans. (I'll throw it away if it rots or attracts bugguhs!) I would post a pic, but we started throwing it around and it got lost...somewhere...
