My boyfriend and I are going to be seperated for the rest of the summer, so I wanted to make him a little plushie to sleep with.I have made a plushie/pillow thing once a LONG time ago, and I think I can conceptualize the basics, I'm just proposing my idea for some advice and looking for tips.

If this is terribly annoying, please feel free to delete.

I'm thinking of a little ninja-plush (my boyfriend is a ninja, while I'm a pirate...you know how it is.)

In my head, I'm hoping for it to look something like this:

Sorry for the craptastic drawing. I'm using MS Paint with a touchpad laptop mouse.... The color of Mr. Ninja's clothing is, of course, going to be black, but then you wouldn't be able to see the lines.

I think of I've got most of it figured out. Cut out the front and back, hand sew the face piece on the front and the heart, sew front and back together inside out with the little tie-piece sewed into the seam like a tongue, turn them right side out, stuff, hand sew shut.

Here's the part that's got me stumped.

1) I'm hoping to make the eyes black teddy bear eyes, like this:

Or like the ones here.

I have NO idea how to attach them. Ideally, I want the eyes...well, like the eyes you see on most plushies, sewn tightly into the material, not loose and floppy like buttons. I've noticed that bear eyes come with ALL sorts of backings and I don't know which I should choose or how to attach them. Also, what's a recommended place to purchase bear eyes?

2) For stuffing, where do you recommend I leave the opening to hand-sew? I'd like it somewhere where it wouldn't be too noticeable. If I left the seam in Mr. Ninja's crotch, it would probably not look fantastic. I'm thinking on the outside of one of his legs, but would this be hard to stuff?

3) I will leave off the belt if I can't manage it, but I was hoping to cut two strips of fabric and sew them on. How would I sew them on exactly? Any advice or better ideas?

Thank you very much for any advice you can give me. :D
