Jul. 27th, 2006 01:37 pmI want to make a quilt for my mother. Materials to be used are old napkins from my grandmother's estate. What I want to do is take old love letters that my grandfather wrote to my grandmother and transfer them onto the fabric. Any suggestions on the best method for this? Any particular transfer paper that you find to be most effective?
Also, these napkins are all white, some are linen, some are damask. For the napkins not being used to have the letters transferred, I wanted to dye them. Any suggestions for good dyes? Colors are to be bright and cheerful, in varying shades of yellow and orange, maybe some blue thrown in as a good contrast.
