Recently, I have been crafting a hella lot. The amount of Cartoon Network I watch has gone significantly skyward, because I need something to listen to/occasionally glance at while I busy my fingers (...gross).

Basically, some shit has gone down and I am using iPod cozies and duct tape as a coping mechanism. It's a lot better than what I used to do, though, so no worries! A PLUS???

The first thing I did was this book alteration. It was my first one evah, and it was just a basic hollowing. My World Religions teacher (who also teaches psych) had to get rid of a bunch of old psych books, and she let us take them. This one is just an old guy talking about how great it was to be a total square in the fifties. Also drugs are bad and why are our teenagers having sex???

I cut out all of the titles (altering them to fit my needs) and added them in. I don't necessarily think all of this is "normal," but I put it in anyways. I am a rebel! On the other side is just a two paragraph blurb about what drugs your kids are currently smoking, according to a man who KNOWS.

Dudes and ladies, I totally apologize for this photo; it was kind of just an excuse to hang things off of my light switch and show off my periodic table poster. I forgot to use flash, and so it all got yellow. This is just a big ol' knitted bag. I can't finish off my knitting, so I just did this instead (it was originally a square. I don't knit much).

I am not entirely sure if I was on drugs or not when I did this. It's a square. Made out of woven ribbons, glued together. Srsly, wtf mate.

Again, not sure why I made this. It's a little duct tape wristlet, but I don't use purses?

This is the purse of a thousand pockets. It has a coin purse inside of two pockets attached to a pocket attached to the purse, which is basically just a giant pocket.

Quick story: my mom accidentally washed my iPod in the washing machine, and didn't tell me for almost two months (in the meantime, she let me bitch about how Apple makes inferior products that entire time...she is indeed crafty!); she felt bad and is awesome so she bought me a new one, water under the bridge, etc. My new iPod came with this little case that nicely protects it from scratches, but there were no viewing/clickwheel holes. I cut off two little plastic pieces, cut out corresponding holes, and hot glued the pieces to the holes. It's not pretty, but it does the job. I'm thinking of gluing ribbon around the edge of the plastic to cut down on the ugly.

I feel bad about crafting all of this, especially since 50% of it will not be used. I'm hoping that I can give it away to someone who will actually use it.
