craftgrrl | question about pockets

since I recently decided that I needed to sew, I've come across some complications with sewing pockets that actually look decent. I've looked through the memories a bit but I don't seem to see any tutorials on how to do pockets. I've done some basic google searching but I haven't found anything that really helps me out either so if anyone knows where I can get a really good tutorial will you leave me a comment...thanks!

EDITED...sorry just wanted to say that the pockets in question technically deal with purse pockets and such. I figured that this info might make a difference, heh
