I've found a pretty big supplier of vintage fabrics (anything from 1950's onwards) for really cheap (I got a huge bag full for £7) but they smell really really bad. They've been sat in an old building for at least 10 years. They obviously need washing but I'm a little nervous in case they've started to rot while they've been in the shop. Any hints?

Edit: I washed them on a wool cycle and hung them to dry on the line. They all survived and smell much nicer now :)
