I teach 3rd grade, here are some of the crafty things I made for my class this year.  
I decided on a pirate theme.- the kids were way excited.


 The bulletin board took several days to complete, but it was worth it to see the kids crowded around it this morning looking for themselves. :D  


I made the pirates to look like my kids... and I even made Jack Sparrow...see if you can find him!

This I made a couple years ago but went with the pirate theme. Incentive to get them to turn in their homework. (and yes that is Starry Night painted on the wall next to it... I can't find the pic of it right now, though. I did that last year and was surprised that no one complained).




Journals for writing: these started out as plain black & white composition books.
