I've been lurking here for a few months, and have complied a nice section of favorites that I intend to get started on one of these days.

Last night I taught myself (with the help of a how-to podcast) to knit. Of course I'm still new at it, and have just been practacing all day, but I'd like to make something (that's easy) pretty soon.

I have a baby sister who will turn one on the 23rd of this month, as well as a sister who is having a baby in January, so I have been looking at a lot of patterns for baby toys and blankets and hats and things.

My question is, can anyone direct me to some very easy beginner patterns that are along these lines? I am starting college in a couple of weeks, so after that I won't have much time, so I'd like to devote a lot of hours and get fairly decent at it before then.
