long time lurker, first time poster.
Feb. 3rd, 2003 05:36 amjust wanted to show off this bag that i made : )
i took a pathetic (but greatly enjoyable.) fashion class at my community college, and this was one of my projects.
it's very roughly put together. my teacher told me i had a very "sid vicious" (lol!) approach to sewing.

except, this bag wasn't sewn at all!
for the pattern, i roughly sketched the shape of a bag that i knew i liked. i wanted it to fit easily over my arm,
and i extended the bottem to make it a bit deeper.
i used denim for one half
pin up girl (version : outdoors) printed cloth
and glued them together!
i put a few (rough!) back up stitches where the bag and the strap connect on both sides.
and, viola!
*the pictures could be a lot better,
but... i have a question for some of you professionals out there,
what's an easy (possibly utilizing glue) way to stiffen it up a bit?
i don't mind a floppy bag... but i know it might look better if it sit flat.
