craftgrrl | Silver Jewelry Making Supplies

Hello! I've been lurking in the community and commenting on all the lovely crafts being posted, but this is my first post of my own creations. I also have a few questions!

I recently tried to make my own jewelry, right now just earrings and bracelets, but I want to give my jewelry to friends as Christmas gifts this year.

I really liked how these turned out, unfortunately one fell apart because I didn't close the rings well enough. I fixed it and they're good to go now. ;p

This set I made and already gave to a friend. She has worn it several times, and they haven't fallen apart, so I guess I'm doing it right now. hahaha

My questions, I have friends and relatives who can only wear gold and silver. I can't afford gold, but I'm hoping I can find some relatively cheap sterling silver earring and bracelet pieces. Does anybody know who sells sterling silver jewelry making supplies, online or off? Do you also have any good resources for the beginner to create jewelry (ideas, hints, etc)? I seem to be stuck in a stripe/alternating color only pattern. ;(
