Hey craftpeeps --
this is ..... pretty craft related (but a little strange) but you are all amazing creative brains and I need good ideas! If you aren't the brainstorming type, please ignore. ^____^
Bunny. Insect. Zombie. Monkey. Alien. Robot.

That is the theme of the Trade Paperback that my company just put out. The "BIZMAR" is an amazing 232 page anthology with fantastic artwork and hilarious stories. As long as each of the 80 artist/writers included all six elements, they could do whatever they wanted with their 2 - 4 page story. The problem with comic book anthologies is that they USUALLY don't sell very well in comic shops, so most shops are hesitant to order them. We want to put together a really cool "press package" of sorts that will be sent (along with a copy of the comic) to press for review as well as actual-factual cool hip comic book shops hoping that it'll stand out so much that they'll place an order.
We want the person who opens the package to "interact with" each of the elements. A piece of fake fur for instance, to "feel" the bunny. One of those bug lollipops to "taste" a bug. A banana scented scratch and sniff card to "smell" the monkey.
We have a few ideas for several but are open to other brain waves that are different than our own.
Cost of course needs to stay as low as possible, but we can spend money. We also have lots of time (this is our full time job), so if it is something we can make ourselves, that is good. We are both artists, my husband is pretty handy with tools and I'm pretty crafty/can sew. We are probably making 50 - 100 of these packages.
Basically, we're looking for things that are high concept, quality, abstract but tangible ideas (as opposed to trinkets, toys or anything that would immediately get thrown away.) of ways to "interact with" each: Bunny Insect Zombie Monkey Alien Robot
Also: packaging ideas? Ideally, I'd like the opener of the box to "experience" each of these items BEFORE seeing the book. so the book kind of becomes an "aha!" Is there any way we could make these happen in a way that wasn't just throwing each of them into the box? Binding six cards might be an option so long as it doesn't seem to take away from the book itself.
Thanks for your ideas!!!! <3
