the shoes..again

Okay, so my last one got deleted because of the "gift idea" question that was included in the post. So here's a shoe-only post and a question to those who have done collage on shoes...

This is just regular origami paper and modpodge. I don't want to wear them in the rain, so I don't need them to be waterproofed. But just as far as sealing them with something to make the paper stay on longer...someone had suggested a polyeurothane (sp?) spray. I just wanted to get some feedback from others who have sprayed their shoes with it. Were they impossible to walk in after that? I've worn these a few times now, and they're still comfy. I'm afraid of adding anything that will make them incredibly stiff.
