So I got the brilliant idea to knit Knitty's Wavy for a friend who is teaching English in South Korea this winter. (pattern found here: http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter04/PATTwavy.html)

I'm an intermediate knitter, I've knitted lace and much harder projects, but on this one I'm getting stuck. And yes, I DID buy a row counter and am using it.

I think what is throwing me off is that I'm over thinking one of the pattern instructions... to knit the even rows the way they appear. So if it looks like a knit or a purl, do it as a knit or a purl, even if it doesn't look like a "right" knit or purl. Or should I just be doing the even rows the exact same way I do the odd rows? I don't even know if I'm making any sense here.

I was wondering if anyone else has knitted this/run into this problem.
