Bead Confusion...

I don't know much about beads and a knitting pattern I've had my eye on for a while calls for 18 Czech glass beads, size 8/0. Now I've managed to find the japanese seed beads 11/0 on this site Ideally I'd like to order both from the same site (as postage will be cheaper) but have no luck when I search for "Czech glass beads, size 8/0" There are some Czech faceted beads... are these the same? How do I know how big they are? What is really the difference between Czech beads and Japanese beads? Is it just that one is made in the Czech republic and one in Japan or is it more deep and meaningful than that?

Won't you help a knitter out...

Oh and so I'm not just text only... have a sock, the second one is almost done, hence me checking out materials for the next project.
