craftgrrl | May the Force Be With You - Boyfriend's 18th Birthday Quilt

So being the girlfriend, i started to worry about the boyfriend's quick approaching birthday.
when lo and behold, i came across this quilt on craftgrrl as well
from there, ideas began flying, and wal mart was soon in the picture (hah. i get teased by him about going to wal mart every day. which is a lie)
but yeah, since recently he redid his own myspace (which i usually do for him) and it has an EXTREME running star wars theme...
the quilt i saw. plus star wars. plus a birthday. equals perfect present.

so many ideas went through my head
and finally, i decided to applique red letters (the magic of wonder under and zig zag stitching) onto patterned blocks. a row of blocks with no letters, a row of red block with patteren letters, another row of blocks no letter, and a bottom row of blocks with red letters again.

insolated (hah) with low loft batting, the back is one of my brothers old star wars sheets he left behind as he headed off to india for two years. was originally planned to go to a thrift store, but i managed to save it, but still put it to a good cause. well, thats alot of babble, here are pictures of in process, and finished (on my lovely toy story themed bed)

i spared crafster of this, since it was on the quilting board.
but you get to see the stencil of the t-shirt as well...
be excited now.
i enjoy bleach stenciling.
and i esp like how it looks if you let it sit for awhile on a black shirt.
so thats what i did.

front. its the countdown of when the world is going to end.

i kinda fell asleep while we watched the movie at a friends house.
oh, and its from donny darko if you couldnt tell.

and he wont be recieving this until october 6th.
but i wanted to show it off somewhere.
and craftster craftgrrl and crafty_gifts are three places he will never think to look
or even set foot on that part :p
