I are knitting!
Oct. 14th, 2006 10:46 pmWell, I finally got around to teaching myself how to knit and here are the results:

This was the first thing I made. A simple garter stitch scarf made with self-striping yarn. I really need to tuck those ends in... I love the colors. Always been a big fan of green in general, but bright green & black wins even more. I have a little leftover yarn, should I add tassels or leave it as is?

A lonely glove. It'll have a match soon. Used the Sideways Glove pattern from this post. It was nice to find a simple pattern that wasn't...you know...rectangular?

This is my current project. My first time switching yarns (as you can see by the oopsie I made between the brown and yellow stripes). Anyone recognize it?

I made myself a hollow book! It's pretty much done, but I think I want to add a pair of magnets inside so it will stay closed a bit better and maybe paint the inside black, or line it with some fabric.
Also, I have a question. I want to make some playing card type things. Making the cards is easy enough, but what can I use to coat them to preserve them and make them look professional? I guess I could laminate them, but I was wondering is there was a spray coat or something. Any recommendations?
