I'm going to put my question behind a cut, because I tend to be longwinded, and there is no reason all you people who have no interest in quilting should have to scroll through my babbling.
Hokay. So.
I'm planning on making my little brother a tee-shirt quilt for christmas. He gives me all the tee-shirts that he gets tired with or simply grows out of, because I am miniscule compared to him. However, there are only so many of them that I can resize, because some of them are REALLY BIG and to resize them for me would basically be simply making a new shirt from scratch. Besides, there are only so many tee-shirts a girl can need.
I've done a little bit of research, and I don't like the way the tie-method looks on these, simply because I'm a bit OCD and everything needs to be perfect.
I am really shitty and really slow at handsewing, and have no access to one of those fancy smancy long arm sewing machines. I would normally just suck it up and hand-sew it, but because of my OCD and already pretty bad handsewing techniques, it would take me months. Unfortunatly, due to living in a dorm without access to space/materials/etc. I only have about a week to make it over thanksgiving, and I was just wondering...
Is there a way to quilt a decent sized teeshirt quilt (or any quilt for that matter for future reference) using a regular sewing machine?
If that is not possible, is there some other fast, efficient, won't-bother-my-OCD, way to finish the quilt other than longarm machine, hand quilting, or tie method?
Any and all help would be welcomed and much appreciated.
