ok... my incredibly arty best friend just bought a yacht which he is fixing up to live on.

i really want to make him a cushion for it with the japanese wave thing on it...

i have been really uninspired lately and my skills haven't been too great, not to mention my lack of art capabilities to begin with!! but i do like to sew and try new things. and my exams finish wednesday and he goes away which leaves me with well... a week of free time....

It's going to be his christmas present, but i'm going overseas at the beginning of december so i would love to have it done before that.

I really would love ideas on how to do this? what would be the simplest yet affective way?

and also, it really needs to be waterproof because other wise it will get mouldy or something horrible.... so i could do it with felt and such (not that i have used felt before) and than put a clear plastic cover over it... or use more waterproof fabrics or something??

IDEAS? PLEASSSSSE? you guys are always such great help...
