Hello crafting friends.

My 3rd anniversary (!) is coming up and Mike and I like to try using traditional ideas when planning/making/buying our gifts for each other.

This year it's leather.

I'd like to make a small notebook/journal and am unsure of the exact tools I may need.

Do I need a special needle?
What kind of thread?
I'd like to repurpose leather that I find at thrift stores, will I need special scissors/cutter?

Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
