Paint suggestions?

After a recent entry in hip_domestics (where the OP, and well as myself, like this cat shaped humidifier but not the color), I started wondering:

Is there a paint that we could use to safely paint this? It's a cool mist humidifer instead of warm, but I'd worry about moisture, etc. still, and wouldn't want it to peel.

In general, I usually just buy exactly what I want. But honestly, I need a humidifier as well, and this would seem more like a decor instead of a humidifier just sitting there. Any ideas how one might go about safely painting this?
