Hallo again, more progress on my Rosa costume! I've been working on this thing off and on for almost a year, so everything is coming together at once (which is a WONDERFUL feeling, I must say :D)

This is the finished cape...there are four layers all in all and the longest one trails about 3 feet behind me. Many thanks to my desk chair for showing it off!

P.S. The weird beige blobs are shoulder pads. And I know they're on the top, they're there for a reason :D

And THESE, my friends, are her shoulder armour. I know they look like something Madonna would've worn back in the '80s, but I PROMISE they go on my shoulders. For all intensive purposes they're finished, but I do need to go back and do a bit of cleanup and some more detail work.

The front...

And now that I look at them, the design on the left one is higher than the design on the right one D: BLAST!!!

...and the back!

Anyway...they're made out of a plastic styrene skeleton with aluminum foil as the horn (I dont' know what they are, the pokey things on the side!) shape, then I paper mache'd with newspaper about two layers, then I put on a thick layer of paperclay, then I sanded them down and almost choked to death before I realized I should probably use a dust mask. I made little "platforms" for the jewels out of Sculpey and superglued them on, then spraypainted the entire thing white, glued the jewels on, and detailed. Whew. The whole process for these will be repeated on some knee armour, oi vey.

Thanks for looking! I'll be debuting this baby at Katsucon 2007, I'm uber excited!
