Worsted weight needle case
Dec. 5th, 2006 01:35 pmHello everybody! For ages now I've been wanting to make a needle case for the needles I use most often with worsted weight yarns - something smallish I could throw in a bag that would hold all the needles and notions I need to complete a project. Last night I finally buckled down and got to business making this candy coloured gem!

I decided to use fabrics from my 'new' stash as well as from my 'reclaimed' stash, so some of the fabrics in this needle case are from my daughter's old baby clothes. The pink with flowers was a sweet little dress, and the white with fruits was a cute pair of cotton pants. It will be very nice to look at my knitting needle case and see a reminder of how tiny she once was.

The whole case was hand-sewn, with only a tiny bit of glue gun assistance to ensure the edges were well sealed.

I still have a lot of these fabrics left, and I'm starting to think on how to use them to make a good knitting bag for smallish projects.
