Hi crafters

I'm bored.
I need a mini-hobby.
I've bought most my gifts so I don't want to make anything with a 24th deadline on it or anything...I have 2 weeks to play and I'm just looking for some time killer.
At best, I can wire a pair of earrings or thread a necklace. But I lack cooler supplies for now, just glass beads mostly.
I don't knit or crochet..yet?

So, suggest something that's just...for fun. That I might hang on the tree or stash in a book or maybe even mail in a box to someone. Something cheap, easy, maybe my son (7) can help too.
The cheap is key, with little mess too...or something mindless I can do while watching TLC. The snowflakes are pretty, but what else have ya got?

I have a bunch of 'mardi gras' type bead necklacess, in christmas colors, that I used as a tree skirt last year (just draped/wrapped). They dont have holes in the middle...what else could I use them for?

Glass beads, small, in blues and coppers. basic medley of clasps/earring hooks.

flour, brown sugar...how do you make those cookie ornaments?

old clothes ready for goodwill...or, scrap for materials?

ladder type shelf..its boring..doll it up? modpodge?

several small cans of never opened paint...like, 5 years old...does it go bad? I was thinking of splattering an offwhite dresser with them (blue, purple, yellow)
