Acrylic sealer?

Im looking for a sealer/glaze that will seal acrylic paints to untreated wood. (example of what I want to seal http://community.livejournal.com/craftgrrl/9575657.html)
I dont want to risk the paint chipping off or it getting wet/ruined down the line from use. I tried Mod Podge once before but found that if 2 pieces are modged and touching for a while it will stick, even after its dry, so want to look for an alternative.
