[identity profile] or-best-offer.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl
Ahoy. I've watched this community for a while and decided if there was ever a group of people who'd be able to solve my dilemma, it would be you all. So my boyfriend gave me a Hanukkah present (he's not actually Jewish, just...strange) that was a picture of he and I that he'd taken. So now I'm in a pinch to get him something equally as heartfelt and precious (I especially feel bad because I'm already late on his birthday gift of a scarf thanks to finals). I thought it would be cute to make him a dreidel, but when I tried to make playdough and bake it, the whole thing bloated out and looks like crap. I just used the bog-standard flour-salt-water recipe.

My question to you all is: Is there a better recipe out there for home-made clays? Or would I be better off just buying premade modelling clay at a craft store? It needs to be hardy enough to last being sent through the terrors of the local post office and make it there in one piece.

Any input at all would be very much appreciated.
